I have a 55 gallon tank with 11 fish: 5 rasboras, 4 platys and two juvenile angelfish. I have an undergravel filter and I'm looking to get a power filter soon.
1. Should I do a 10% water change once a week or a 25% water change once a month? All water will be treated with conditioner and a dechlorinator.
2. Am I supposed to let the water sit out before I add it to the tank (If so, how long?) or not?
Thanks!When/how should I change my water?I try to do 25 to 30% water changes each week. I use the python water changer and I will put dechloraminator (to get rid of chlorine and chloramine) in the tank just before I start adding the water that is set to the same temp as the tanks.When/how should I change my water?do a 10% weekly for 2 months then a 25 monthlyWhen/how should I change my water?i leave the water out for 24 hours uncaped and do 25% a mo. but u may need to get declorinator depending on ur water.try and change the water when u vac this way the water is already down.When/how should I change my water?1) your supposed to do BOTH. =]
2) yes, your supposed to treat the water with dechlorinator and let it sit out overnight =]When/how should I change my water?I would suggest you to change your tank water 25%-50% of your tank water 1-2 times a week .
(Depending on your tank condition cloudy/dirty)
And once a while you can do a complete water change in your tank like 1-2 times a month.
As you used or add a dechlorinator ,you don't need to let the water sit for a couple of day .
Hope my answer may help you and your fish.
Good luck.
