Don't worry though, it is actually good for us. If you don't let water run through it long enough when you change it that can happen.
Also Brita and Pur a very simple and basic filters. They really only do very little to improve taste and smell. They don't do all that much for clarity and health related contaminates.
I would suggest moving up to a purification system. The highest one available is eSpring. Only distilleries can get water cleaner.
