Water changing a fish tabk aquarium - How to do it?

Hi.

* How often should I change water (63Li Tank)

* What type of water do I refill with, and how to get it into the tank? Just pour?

* Pre heating? / Dechlorinator?

CheersWater changing a fish tabk aquarium - How to do it?1. Changing 25% of the water once a week is typically reccomended. This may vary though if your tank is overcrowded, has no filter, etc. But it's safe to say that 25% is usually fine.

What you could do is go to aqadvisor.com, put in what type of tank you have and fish (or fish you plan to keep) and it will tell you how much water to change according to your specific tank!

A great way to remove water from the tank is to use a gravel syphon. It will change the water (old water can be directed to a bucket or out the window) while cleaning your gravel. Makes things so much easier!

2. What type of fish are you keeping, freshwater or saltwater? If freshwater, just fill up a bucket with tap water. The water should be the correct temperature to prevent the risk of putting the fish into shock. Fish aren't good with dealing with sudden changes in temperature, pH levels, etc etc.

Then add dechlorinator to the bucket of new water (instructions will be on the bottle).

Then just carefully pour into the tank! :D

3. If you own coldwater fish, it needs to be room temperature. Either leave the bucket of water sitting overnight or add a little warm water when filling it up and use a thermometer to check that it is room temperature.

If you own tropical freshwater fish, the new water will need to be the same temperature as what's in the tank (eg 25 degrees celcius). Do this by either buying a small heater and putting it in the bucket of new water or just add warm water in the bucket and use a thermometer to make sure it is the correct temperature (this is what I do).

Always add dechlorinator to new water before putting it in. By not putting in dechlorinater, the chlorine not only harms the fish and burns their gills, but it kills all your beneficial bacteria that has developed and the tank has to cycle all over again!

Hope that helps. Good luck! :)Water changing a fish tabk aquarium - How to do it?1. Do about a 20 to 25% water change weekly. A gravel vacuum makes them very easy.

2. Tap water...make sure you put in conditioner!

3. It doen't have to be exactly the same temperature. You can try and put it around the temperature of my tank. I don't really. I have a 29 gallon tank, so a couple of gallons are not really going to effect the temperature. Hope I helped!
