How often do i change my fish tank's water?

I have two normal goldfish. They live in a little bowl and i had 5 before but 3 of them died. :-( I've got 2 left that have survived for at least 2months!!! That's cool. Do you have any good tips on how to keep them alive? All we're doing now is feeding a pinch full in the morning and the night everyday and then changing their water once every week. Is there anything else we could do to help them? We don't use a filter because our tank's too small to fit one. Please give me some advice.How often do i change my fish tank's water?Hi Mia

Are you changing all or part of the water? don't change all the water at once

Although I don't like fish bowls try a partial change once a week about 1/3 and you don't need to feed every day try once every 2-3 days this will also help keep the wastage to a minimum- goldies are very messy..

You could also try some water treatments when u change part of the water such as a water conditioner. If you want to take all the fuss out of water changes you could try %26quot;aqua pics KH 7.0 powder%26quot;

this will help keep your water to the right PH and ammonia levels and make your fishies a little happier with their environment.

How often do i change my fish tank's water?Ok so I am the only person who is being honest with you so far. You can't keep goldfish in a bowl NEVER that is the reason why they are dying. The rule for goldfish is generally 20 gallons for the first one and 10 gallons for everyone after that. So you would need at least a 30 gallon aquarium for your two fish. This is the reason they are dying. They also need good filters because they are so dirty. If you want to do what's right for them upgrade your tank to a 30 gallon ASAP, it really isn't that much more than a 10 gallon.How often do i change my fish tank's water?those fish would have died for a number of reasons, but one obvious factor is that they did not have enough space! one goldfish would not have enough room in a bowl so don't get anymore. as the bowl has no filter, you should be changing it at least once a week, keeping about a third of the old water in there so they don't get shocked from the change.

make sure that you have water conditioner for the fish, it allows tap water to be safe for them. just get it from your pet store they all have them. ask for help to find the simplest one, not much point in complicating yourself for nothing!How often do i change my fish tank's water?you should clean it every month or so, depending on the size of your fish tank. you have to have a really really good filter to have the water clean for longer .. but, you still have to clean it the pepples, rocks,sand aswell!How often do i change my fish tank's water?Goldfish do not belong in a bowl: http://www.aquariu.ms/goldfishbowl

Until you can get a tank, change the water daily.How often do i change my fish tank's water?Shame on You!

those 3 could be alive if only you had treated the water with the stuff from the aquarium shop.

How often do i change my fish tank's water?about 3-6 week or if it gets green be 4 that.How often do i change my fish tank's water?Never keep your fish in bowls, especially without filter systems.

They will die from ammonia poisoning because they swim in their own waste, it eventually chokes them to death.

I definitely suggest getting a bigger tank, even if it's just a small 10 gallon. Try your local CraigsList to find one cheap in your area.

Goldfish get big, full grown- a fantail goldfish needs 10 gallons at least to itself. Comet/Feeder goldfish need at least 20-30 gallons to themselves as they get 12%26quot; long easily. A common myth is that goldfish grow to their environment which isn't true. However, keeping them in a bowl with bad water can stunt their growth and greatly decrease their life span [most goldfish can live easily for 10+ years]

In a bowl with two goldfish, siphon/pour out half of the water every day and suck up the gross stuff that's in the gravel. That's all you can do with a tank, even then it stresses the fish out badly as does any major water change. But at least they might be healthier.

Please, look into a bigger tank even if it's just by a few gallons.

It's a lot better for your fish and the larger the tank, the less cleaning you have to do less often.

Good luck with the remaining goldfish though..

I hope it works out.How often do i change my fish tank's water?never ur not supposed to change the water its bad for them if u want it to stay clean just get a small algee eater and itll stay clean u can also get a plakasamis which eats algea
